Meet Dennis Yang
Experienced Leadership. A Focus on the Future.
Hello Neighbors,
My name is Dennis Yang and I both honored and excited to announce my candidacy for the Walnut Valley Water District Board, Division 5.
I have been a resident of the Walnut Valley Water District service area since 2002. As a technology executive and homeowners association board member, I understand the importance of responsible leadership, careful financial oversight, and dependable infrastructure.
For the past nine years, I have served as Chief Information Officer of a nonprofit trade association, overseeing technology operations, cybersecurity, major projects, contracts, and multimillion-dollar budgets. I have also led more than 150 technology professionals providing services to over 30,000 employees worldwide.
This experience has taught me how to evaluate long-term investments, manage risk, hold vendors accountable, and balance service quality with cost.
I also serve on my homeowners association Board of Directors as Treasurer, where I oversee budgets, reserve funding, financial reporting, vendor contracts, and long-term capital planning. This hands-on experience has given me a practical understanding of the financial and infrastructure decisions that affect our community.
"Decisions made today will affect its reliability, affordability, and infrastructure for decades.”
A Local Family
My wife and I have been married for 21 years, and we are raising our two children in this community, where they attend local public schools.
This is the community we call home, and I care deeply about its future.
It would be an honor to represent Division 5. I respectfully ask for your vote.

My Priorities
If elected to the Walnut Valley Water District Board, I will focus on:
- Affordable Water — Carefully reviewing rates, budgets, and capital projects to protect ratepayers.
- Safe, Reliable Water — Supporting responsible infrastructure investment and long-term water reliability.
- Fiscal Responsibility — Managing reserves prudently and ensuring public funds are used wisely.
- Preparedness & Smart Technology — Strengthening emergency preparedness, cybersecurity, operational resilience, and the responsible use of technology.
- Better Customer Service & Accountability — Listening to residents, improving communication, and providing transparent, accessible leadership.
Water is one of our community’s most essential resources. The decisions we make today will affect its reliability, affordability, and infrastructure for decades.
I will review the facts, ask the hard questions, and make decisions based on what is best for our community. I will bring an independent perspective, strong business and technology experience, and a collaborative approach to the Board.
